The key insight from the snip is that just like everyone can learn to read, everyone also has the capability to learn and understand mathematics. It is emphasized that the same approach and importance given to learning to read should be extended to learning math. By starting with the premise that everybody has the right to learn math, it is suggested that people should not feel excluded from the realm of math, and instead, aim to achieve a level of mathematical literacy that suits their individual capacity.
