Poverty and trauma are sad and dark, but there's also lightheartedness, fun, love, warmth, and music. I've healed enough to joke and laugh. Still serious about important matters, I don't tolerate prejudice or mean-spiritedness. To share my story, I use accessible language, like in my psychology lectures. Effective communication is about reaching the audience.
