Occupying police force under Norman rule and the suffering of the English

Wortorick describes how the Bishop and Fitz Osborne, two petty lords, were enjoying their power and oppressing both nobles and commoners. They were leading a ruthless occupying police force, causing widespread robbery and assault. The English sought protection from the crown but their complaints were ignored. Despite the crown's claims of justice and continuity, it was actually imposing Norman rule through brutality and collaboration.
