Fluidity in Identity and Comfort in a World with Fewer Boundaries
A world with fewer strict boundaries and rules would allow people to have more fluidity in their identities and find comfort in different social identities and institutions. Some individuals find value in a non-literal approach, while others prefer a more literal one. Having fewer boundaries would make it more comfortable for a wider range of people, even though it might make controlling boundaries more challenging. The concept, discussed by Carl Jung, suggests that the enlightenment was not a rejection of Christianity but a natural expression of it, as Christianity's focus on truth and conversation ultimately led to the rise of rationality.
