NOTE

The Limits of Knowledge and Skill

Knowledge and skill are not universal and abstract, but rather deeply intertwined with specific contexts and environments. The ability to attend to details and pick up on subtle cues is developed through familiarity and experience within a specific setting. Skill and knowledge are embedded in the land, climate, and place within which they were cultivated. Transferring expertise to a different context where these elements are different proves challenging and highlights the limitations of knowledge and skill.
