The blame placed solely on Germany after World War I led to a desire for vengeance and laid the seeds for World War II. However, after World War II, helping the losers with initiatives like the Marshall Plan proved to be the right move. Conspicuous acts of kindness are an antidote to the cycle of reciprocal violence and are necessary to prevent it from continuing indefinitely.
