Estimating Critical Power and W Prime

Estimating critical power or maximal steady state can be achieved by conducting a self-paced 30-minute time trial to measure heart rate and speed or power. This can provide a close estimate of the intensity levels. However, to determine W Prime, repeated times to exhaustion or time trials at different power outputs are recommended. The consensus suggests that a three-minute all-out test can also be effective if done properly, without any pacing involved.
