Two years ago, i created a prototype of a line of science kits for kids. After putting it in the hands of six parents, I found that none of them wanted to buy one. It's easy to make broad generalizations about what people don't like or want when you're trying to figure out why your idea didn't work. But being clear and specific is an important part of learning how to be effective at problem-solving on any given day.
