I don't know of another church that spends more time focusing on its own story than us and teaching it to to its our members. I can see why you'd want to give them just enough history to de stabilize them, and not enough of the rest of the history to help them get their feet underneath them again. It's that dunning cruger effect. The moment you learn a little, your confidence sky rockets, and you think you know the whole story. They call that the peak of mount stupid. This may be true, but it might only be half true.
