Origins of NAACP and Biden's Rent Proposal
The NAACP was formed in 1908 in response to the race riots in Springfield, Illinois. Initially standing for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the acronym is now used more commonly. Joe Biden proposed to bring down rents, build 2 million affordable homes, and cap rent increases at 5% per year, but later struggled with reading his teleprompter and proposed capping rent increases at $55.
