The biblical concept of judgement as a pledge to oppressed humanity
The rider on the white horse, known as the Word of God, leads the armies of heaven dressed in fine linen. He carries a sharp sword, which is the weapon of his simple word that brings down tyrants and lifts up the vulnerable. The biblical threat of judgment is not a scare tactic, but a pledge to oppressed humanity that God hears their cries for justice and will bring his justice to bear on every act of oppression. God's judgment and compassion are two sides of the same coin.
