Simply Safe is a great option for home security, but be careful with advertising which alarm system you have. Consider getting a sign from a different company or skipping it altogether. Simply Safe might still offer a 30-day free trial. If you keep a gun in the house, always lock it up. Even if your kids are responsible, their friends might not be. Take the time to train properly to prevent accidents. However, if the police won't be of much help until the worst happens, keeping a gun for self-defense might be understandable. Consider your mental health before keeping a firearm easily accessible.
