The Semantics of Polygamy

In the history of Mormonism, there are many intriguing and contrasting events. From the emergence of the Book of Mormon to the Kirtland Temple spiritual manifestations, and the controversial teachings of John C. Bennett. While some speculate Bennett's involvement in polygamy, evidence suggests he was not a part of it. Additionally, the chronology and theology of Bennett's spiritual wifery do not align with the development of polygamy within Mormonism. As for the terminology, whether we use plural marriage or polygamy, it is a matter of semantics. Moreover, the question arises whether polygamy is a principle, doctrine, law, or commandment.
