Cuzco, the New Capital of the Incas
In the time of the Incas, houses were built with rough stones and thatched with mountain grass. The capital city of Cuzco was influenced by both the Wari and Tiwanaku empires. According to legend, four brothers emerged from a cave, one of whom turned into a stone idol. Manko Kapak and his companion built a house and planted maize.
