NOTE

Unity in Diversity: East vs West Philosophical Perspectives

The East and West display different philosophical perspectives on the concept of unity and diversity. In Plato's thoughts, there is a focus on a perfect place that the human mind can grasp, leading to a split between the real and ideal, perfection and the earth, and man against nature. This split expands to man against woman, me against you, and us versus them, creating dualism. On the contrary, Eastern traditions like Dao and Zen value the diversity of the world as necessary for its unity. They believe in the bigger picture where things are true and false simultaneously, with the human mind unable to grasp it at once, emphasizing that the entirety of existence is perfect despite the presence of life, decay, suffering, and joy.
