FODMAPs are present in wheat and many other foods, including those associated with gluten sensitivity. In a study, researchers found that many people who thought they were gluten-sensitive may actually be sensitive to FODMAPs. They recruited 60 people who had gone gluten-free and gave them three types of bars. The bars contained gluten, fructins (a type of FODMAP), or neither. The bars looked and tasted the same and were eaten for a week. The study found that all the bars caused some reaction on average.
