States in India control crucial policies like healthcare, education, law and order, welfare distribution, and agricultural policy. The argument proposes that power should shift to municipalities and metropolitan regions rather than central government control. Despite resistance from states to devolve power, creating new states is suggested as a solution given the reluctance of existing states.
