Problem with Promoting Victim Status
The issue of linking transgender identity with victim status and the promotion of victimhood in society is seen as negative. It creates a perverse incentive for people to glorify negative phenomena, such as self-harm and multiple personality disorder. This trend can be induced by believing in these conditions strongly enough. The phenomenon of rapid onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) among young girls is compared to previous epidemics, like the epidemic of recovered memories of sexual abuse in the 1990s, suggesting similar dynamics are at play.
