Once something is filmed, it can't be repeated on stage, unlike with musicians and their songs. Audiences don't mind hearing the same joke from a comedian, but they do mind hearing old material on stage. Funny is always better than not funny, so it's important to make what you say as amusing as possible. A simple way to gauge success during business talks is if the AV guys are paying attention. The best praise comes from impartial observers, like the security personnel at an event.
