The mainstream left and center-left lack the ability to offer moral guidance at a broader level, although they excel within their own families and communities. While affluent coastal elites effectively instill practices like marriage and child-rearing in the younger generation, there is a dearth of serious thought and reflection on moral guidance in the broader mainstream. This absence creates a vacuum that figures like Jordan Peterson step in to fill, as they do not provide the guidance needed by individuals who did not have the privilege of being raised with such advice.
