Pain and problems are subjective; they depend on both the circumstances and the individual's internal state. It's easy to misjudge someone else's situation. However, it's good to see people occasionally upset because it shows they care about something. Upset feelings can be a motivator for fighting for what matters to us. For example, a daughter being upset about not having access to toys is a sign that it's important to her.
