Do Vitamins tablets work
Vitamins tablets do not work according to evidence from randomized controlled trials. Unless you have a specific disease or deficiency, or cannot maintain a normal diet, vitamins are unnecessary. A varied diet with plenty of plants is sufficient. There is evidence that calcium tablets can have harmful effects, such as increasing the risk of heart disease. Calcium supplements are not beneficial for broken bones or osteoporosis. Taking vitamins can be counterproductive and lead to the misconception that a junk food diet can be compensated for with pills. Diet is the most important factor in maintaining health.
