The voice spoke to Peter three times, telling him not to call anything God has cleansed as common. Prior to this vision, Peter would not have been justified in eating unclean foods, not because the food itself was evil, but because God had asked ancient Israel to separate themselves by following certain dietary restrictions. These restrictions were policies or procedures put in place by God through Moses. However, these policies can be adjusted by God based on the needs of people. So, it's important to recognize that while certain things may be considered unclean or common at one time, they can be cleansed and made acceptable by God.
