Progression from simple tools to complex structures is akin to an evolutionary process involving variation and selection. Each step in the evolution may not be revolutionary, but the overall sequence leads to significant advancements. Just like the design of a pterodactyl was not pre-existing in the DNA of non-flying dinosaurs, new functionalities and capabilities emerge through evolution. The ability to fly in the lineage of dinosaurs created new features that were not present in the ancestors or their DNA.
