In ages past, people worked with the creation, whether it was agrarian societies or just working outdoors, experiencing the elements, not hiding from the weather all the time, not in perfectly climate controlled environments, rising and sleeping with the rising and setting of the sun, rather than electric lights or according to a number on a clock. We're more disconnected from the rhythms of creation than ever before any one has been, it says in romans one 19 and 20.
