Political violence in a democracy gives control over decision-making to random bad actors. Not yielding decision-making power voluntarily to individuals, like in the case of an assassination attempt, is crucial. Encouraging healthy debates and emotional discussions is essential as a means to settle differences, but there should be strict limits against inciting or condoning violence. Leaders play a significant role in setting the tone, and once political violence begins, it becomes challenging to contain and can spiral out of control.
