I think often the critical social justice movement in its current form is a perversion of postmodernist ideas, rather than an enactment of them. Not least because most of them won't read Foucault anyway. And he would have problematized what they're getting up to. But I think a lot of it has come about by accident. It's a kind of, it's a form of evolution or devolution or whatever it is. For some reason these ideas for some reason became fashionable in higher education in academia. Then it became difficult to challenge them because academics were quoting each other.
