Google should double its traffic acquisition costs (TAC) to maintain its stranglehold on search and deter competitors. By paying publishers double the amount other search engines pay, Google can secure exclusivity and prevent AI agents from crawling websites. This strategy would put Microsoft and other competitors on their heels and position Google favorably in potential lawsuits. To preserve its core service, Google should embrace game theory by doubling the TAC.
