The ability to perform single leg heel raises and basic isometric exercises early on can indicate a faster recovery and better return to play prognosis, regardless of the MRI findings. Exposing the tissue to loading stimulates recovery and healing, rather than complete detraining, which may be beneficial in most cases of calf injuries, except for severe ones.
