Power Over or Power With?
In the command and control world, so many times I talk with people at the lower level of the hierarchy who say they are such idiots. They decide things they think they know, but they make this decision and they don't ask us what is going on in the field. So you end up having decisions that are less robust, less wise, that fall apart, that you then have to rethink. And to make the shift, the shift has to happen in three different places. One is in the person who holds the structural power, the person who has the possibility of using it for good.
