"This person seems like the worst authoritarian, but there are different communities with varying levels of strictness. Some people join cults because they provide structure and support, even if they have done bad things. It can be a positive for those who were previously struggling. While there are certainly negative aspects, it offers a way to hide from the hardships of existing under capitalism. It's a result of lacking social safety nets. What can be done about it?"
