NOTE

Understanding the Importance of Sunlight for Circadian Rhythms

The human circadian clock relies on two signals: low solar angle sunlight in the morning and evening. This helps maintain a stable sleep-wake cycle without drifting. The midday sun is considered a circadian dead zone as it cannot effectively shift the circadian clock due to its bright light triggering different ops and melanopsin. While viewing midday sun boosts mood and well-being, it does not anchor the sleep-wake cycle. The evolutionary purpose of color vision was initially for setting the circadian clock based on sunrises and sunsets.
