Comparing the Violence of the British Empire to Other Empires
In the history of the British Empire, there was violence, but we must consider the context. We are fortunate to live in peaceful and prosperous countries. Compared to other empires, such as the Belgian Empire and the German Empire, the British Empire was relatively less violent. During WWII, Indian troops chose to fight with the British against the Japanese because they didn't want to be ruled by the Japanese. The British Empire did not perpetrate genocide like some European empires. Let's not solely focus on the negatives of colonialism, but also acknowledge the positives.
