Using Onet Data to Analyze Job Tasks and Employment

The US government provides a comprehensive data set called Onet that documents the tasks and details of various jobs. By merging this data with other sources, such as wage information, employment statistics, and industry breakdowns, it is possible to analyze and aggregate data at different levels. While perfect recall of the exact taxonomy of tasks is not expected, examples of discrete tasks can be given. For instance, the demand for radiologists has actually increased contrary to predictions made by some in the CS community.
