How to forgive yourself
The process of forgiving oneself involves acknowledging the mistakes made without excessively blaming oneself, providing a thorough defense to understand the wrongdoing, and learning from the mistakes to prevent their repetition in the future. It is crucial to not accuse oneself harshly and seek ways to set oneself on the right track instead of contemplating extreme measures like self-harm. Forgiving oneself also entails evaluating the actions, determining what could have been done differently, and committing to a changed behavior in the future. Similarly, forgiving others involves them acknowledging, understanding, and repenting for their wrong actions before committing to positive change. Dwelling on past mistakes without moving forward can be detrimental, emphasizing the importance of learning, growing, and moving on from errors rather than being permanently burdened by them.
