NOTE

The power of habits and Trigger-Action Patterns (TAPs)

Building habits and trigger-action patterns (TAPs) can greatly improve productivity and learning. Trying new methods and systems, even if they may not work, is valuable because it can lead to finding a better system that increases productivity. Habits are reflexive actions in response to triggers, allowing them to happen automatically without active attention. Habits free up attention for more important tasks and provide the benefits of applying effort without needing to actively think about it. An example of a habit is the behavior of a wasp that drops its prey outside the burrow, checks inside, and then drags the prey inside. This behavior is driven by a simple if-then pattern, demonstrating the power of trigger-action patterns.
