Bob wanted people to avoid using the word 'is' in sentences. Instead, he encouraged them to describe things in a more open and flexible way. For example, rather than saying 'this is money,' Bob suggested saying 'we use this paper to represent money in our society.' By recognizing that concepts are social constructions, Bob believed that we could have more meaningful conversations and expand our perspectives. Although some misunderstood him as saying that nothing is true, Bob actually believed that there are real truths in the world. He was always updating his perspectives, like during his interview with Richard Metzger when they discussed 'cosmic trigger.'
