Conservative Ideals vs. Democratic Debates
The connection between conservative ideas and politics has long been a strength of the conservative movement, with a history of cross-fertilization among political actors, movement institutions, and idea proponents. Unlike republican debates aimed at outflanking on right-wing ideologies, democratic debates are criticized for not speaking to conservatives. Democrats are viewed as hesitant to wield power, whereas the right is more assertive in laying out their agenda.
