Understanding the Fear of God

Step three is to revere God, as He reveals Himself to those who show awe-inspired respect, also known as the fear of God. In Genesis 28, Jacob exemplifies this fear when he is both in awe and afraid of God's presence. This fear is not of running away from God, but rather acknowledging the awesomeness of His presence. Therefore, to draw near to God, one must comprehend and embrace the fear of God.
