NOTE

Consider ARBs as first line due to generics and safety profile

Consider prescribing ARBs as the first line for patients due to their generic availability and improved safety profile compared to ACE inhibitors. With ARBs now being more affordable, the transition from ACE inhibitors is natural. When initiating blood pressure therapy, monotherapy could be considered for patients with borderline blood pressure (130-140), while a fixed-dose combination at a low dose is preferred for patients with higher blood pressure (150-160). Starting with a low dose of M. lotopine for those with blood pressure in the 130-140 range is also acceptable to avoid frequent lab checks.
