Boredom Leads to Creativity
Participants who were bored while engaging in a mundane task came up with more creative solutions in a subsequent creative task compared to those who were not bored. The study involved three groups of participants engaging in either a boring task, a non-boring task, or their favorite activity before completing a creative task. Surprisingly, the individuals who experienced boredom exhibited higher levels of creativity in their solutions to the creative task.
