Increased Carbon Dioxide Leading to Greening and Increased Crop Productivity
The rise in carbon dioxide levels has resulted in significant greening of semi-arid areas such as the Sahara desert. This increase in green space has led to a noticeable decrease in desert sizes. Moreover, there has been a substantial enhancement in crop productivity, approximately 10 to 15%, which is directly linked to the elevated carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. Long-term historical data indicates that the current atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are relatively low compared to millions or tens of millions of years ago.
