Despite the abundance of information available through various media platforms, the average level of public knowledge has not increased significantly. Studies reveal that while access to cable news and the Internet has led to an influx of information, it has also polarized the audience. Instead of everyone being generally informed, a divide has emerged where a small group, the 'obsessives,' engage deeply with specific podcasts and content, while the broader population remains less informed than before.
