Consciousness must have a purpose
Consciousness is believed to have a purpose and not just exist as a byproduct. It is argued that an organism's perception and movement should be causally related to make more sense. The evolutionary perspective supports the idea that consciousness exists for a reason, as it is unlikely to have accidentally evolved without a purpose, implying that it serves a role rather than being a random occurrence.
