NOTE

Undermining Distinctions in Analytic Philosophy

Analytic philosophy has seen the undermining of various key distinctions that were meant to support representational knowledge. The analytic synthetic distinction by Quine, the conceptual scheme and content distinction by Davidson, the fact-value and is-ought distinctions by Putnam have all been seriously challenged. Additionally, distinctions like the theory-data by Klein and Dohem have also been undermined. These challenges have led to a return to a conformity theory where the mind and reality co-participate in shared principles of understanding and mutually shape each other, from individual constructs to cultural worldviews.
