The Chinese version of TikTok is filled with young Chinese people who are smart, conscientious, admirable, and patriotic. In 2021, there were 22.6 trillion minutes of TikTok watched, while only 9.6 trillion minutes were spent watching Netflix. This is mind-blowing considering TikTok videos are only 60 seconds long on average, while Netflix shows are about 30 minutes. The Chinese TikTok version showcases aspirational content such as talented concert pianists from Shenzhen and incredible research.
