Consistency Over Instant Gratification

There are two types of athletes: immature and mature. The immature athlete seeks instant gratification, while the mature athlete is willing to put in the work now to reap rewards later through delayed gratification. In the long run, it is the mature athlete who achieves greater longevity and success. Consistency is key, as small efforts made consistently over time add up to significant results. World-class athletes undergo a multi-year process of training and behavioral modification, focusing on doing less than their maximal capability each day as a positive reinforcement.
