Initially, humans are portrayed as vicious beings who, upon socialization, find themselves in social orders resembling the viciousness of the Hobbesian state of nature, albeit in a modified form like capitalism. Consequently, individuals are haunted by Rousseauian fantasies of a lost paradise that never truly existed, leading to a constant yearning for an Edenic state that was never enjoyed.
