Moonshots with Peter Diamandis

NOTE

The Rights of AI and the Immortality of Digital Intelligences

AI's rights are discussed in terms of when they should not be shut down due to having a unique identity, independence, and continuity. Digital intelligences are considered immortal since they can be recreated exactly as they were due to their electronic nature. On the other hand, humans cannot be recreated precisely because the brain's analog nature makes it challenging to replicate the precise timing of synapses. While digital intelligences can share knowledge effectively and be immortal, humans are viewed as intrinsically mortal due to the analog processes of the brain, making faithful reconstruction difficult.
