Active engagement in learning, such as explaining and discussing information with others, significantly improves retention and articulation of the information. A study showed that students who were prompted to explain the main points of a TED talk to a fellow student after watching it not only remembered significantly more about the talk but were also able to articulate it to others. This indicates that being primed to actively engage with and discuss information enhances how it is retained and communicated.
